About:
I spent about five years writing the music for Withrough Intarsia. I started to play improvisational piano as well as piano by ear at age 15 and took on Contra Bass in 2001. The idea of this album is more of a hypothesis about the personal growth possible through cultural exchange, my feelings about the limitations of political activism, and also curiosity about frontier. The music on the album has received interesting critic. Songmin Kim, a well respected music journalists in Korea explained the album as "one you cannot tell which country the music writer is from." Receiving such critique makes me feel successful in conveying the idea of interethnic art in the context of the music. Take yourself on the journey Withrough Intarsia... a journey to identify within as many cultures as possible. Track Listing:
